Hole By Hole Tips

Positioning and playing from tees that fit your game is what Links Golf is all about.

1.
A straight drive is important on this short par-4. The green is slightly uphill and you must fly your ball to it. The green has a hogback in the middle.

2.
The obstacle on this par-4 is the rough that bisects the fairway. The rough starts 150 yards from the green so check the yardage from the tee you are playing.

3.
This is a narrow driving hole to a three level green. Your best shot is to the center of the green, not necessarily to the pin.

4.
This par-3 is downhill and generally you have a crosswind. Hit one less club for elevation change.

5.
Our shortest par-4 requires a lay-up to give you a short iron to a very severe sloping green like the #2 green at Pinehurst.

6.
You can hit a driver here to give you a medium iron to an elevated sloping green similar to the #9 green at Augusta. Use one club more on the second shot.

7.
This short par-5 allows you to go for the green in two shots. There is a small pot bunker left and short of the green.

8.
On this par-3 favoring the left center of green gives you the best chance at a birdie putt.

9.
A "Monster"par-6. Drive to right side of fairway then hit your second shot to the left center. On your third shot, hit to the large rock on right side of fairway. This is a two level green and a three-club difference from front to back.

10.
This is a long par-4 into the wind. This is the number 1 handicap hole with a pot bunker in the center of the fairway 25 yards short of the green. The green slopes left and right from a high center.

11.
Straight away narrow driving par-5 to a very large sloping green back to front.

12.
A good drive here gives you a short iron to a large green sloping right to left with a large bunker on the left, green is like #11 at Augusta.

13.
Tough par-4 with a long second shot slightly uphill to a large hour glass type green, from center it slopes back and down to front like the 8th at Augusta.

14.
Big dogleg par-4 to a very large sloping green left to right. This hole is like the 9th at Pinehurst on their #8 course.

15.
A short par-3 with a deep pot bunker short of the center with a sloping green back to front like the famous 10th hole called the "Devils Hole" at Pine Valley.

16.
A good par-4 to a three level sloping green from back to front. Its very important to put your second shot on the level of green where the pin is.

17.
Par-3 generally has a crosswind coming from the right to the left. This large green slopes from right to left like the par-3’s third hole at Pine Valley.

18.
A long par-5 generally with a wind from the back to help. Maybe you can get it home in two shots. This has a large two level green and you’ll want to be on the level with the pin placement.
